Adoption Centre Photographer

GOAL for this position  

As an Adoption Centre Photographer, your exciting role will enhance and further promote the animals available for adoption

within the animal centre, leverage some of the Centre’s fundraising campaigns, support our lost and found program,

and help share important animal wellness messages with the community through creative photography.  

 

Volunteer role:  

  • Create fun pictures with an eye for appropriate Facebook and Instagram posts 

  • Take photos and videos for social media 

  • Upload pictures and video content to the animal centre file.  

  • Produce Facebook lives and Instagram lives with the animal centre staff 

  • Participate in Social Media team meetings led by provincial office and or Centre 

  • Participate in meetings to establish strategies for enhanced engagement.  

  

Skill Requirements:  

  • Excellent knowledge of Facebook and Instagram 

  • Experience creating content for social media 

  • Knowledge and experience creating photos and videos, reels  

  • Photography experience is required 

  • Knowledge of Hootsuite is an asset 

  • Outgoing and creative 

  • Comfortable working with a variety of animals, including large dog breeds. 

  • Able to work as a team or independently 

  

Time Commitment: 

We recognize your time contribution to being a volunteer. Therefore, we support a customized approach to your schedule

to best suit your availability. During our onboarding process, we will capture your time preferences and availability

We are always looking for individuals who are dependable and responsible.

This role offers flexible hours, with an average commitment of 2-3 hours a week, possibly increased during active campaigns periods.

Orientation and Training 

Before you start your journey with us, our organization will provide you with the following training: 

  • Infection Control  

  • How to access our online community 

  • Fear Free concepts 

  • Social Media standards and brand requirements. 

  • AODA  

We will indicate which training will be required prior to your commencement, and which training we encourage you to participate in at your earliest convenience.  

  

Supervision and support 

As a volunteer, you will be supported by the Orangeville Animal Centre Staff and some support from the Marketing and Communication Department.

This staff partner will provide you with training for your specific role, your schedule, and any required feedback or updates.

The Volunteer Development Team will always be available to offer support and guidance

You will also have direct access to our online community, where you can find organizational updates, posted information and contact information for your staff partners.
