The shelter is implementing a community engagement team! This program’s mission is to provide pet owners with services, supplies, and educational material needed to maintain or improve their pet’s quality of life. We plan on knocking door to door all throughout Sacramento City neighborhoods providing services and supplies for those in need.
We are looking for 2-4 “community resource ambassadors” during our trial run. Duties will consist of making door-to-door contact with residents, determining resources, and providing educational materials. Once the program is up and running, we will accept more volunteers.
The ideal volunteer is at least 18 years of age, open-minded (understanding of socio-economic and cultural differences), available for a minimum of 4 hours on weekends (we plan on conducting a “sweep” once a month, bilingual is a bonus
We are also looking for 1-2 administrative assistant volunteers. Duties will consist of data entry, maintaining supplies, calling residents to follow-up with services, and contacting local businesses for program assistance. This volunteer opportunity will meet at the shelter after each sweep. Once the program is up and running, we may accept more volunteers.
The ideal volunteer is at least 16 years of age, detail-oriented, personable, available to meet once a month on weekends for a minimum of 1 hour (we can accommodate different schedules)
