The Salvation Army of Galveston County

We have two great locations in Galveston County and many opportunities to help you serve your neighbors in need.

On Galveston Island, The Center of Hope located at 601 51st. Street houses an emergency overnight shelter. The shelter offers men, women and families a safe, clean place to spend the night and get a hot meal. A caseworker is available to assist with resources to help those who are willing to escape from homelessness. In the meantime, The Salvation Army meets their basic needs until they can get on their feet. Everyday at 5:00, a meal is served for the entire community and volunteers assist in that effort. Our Volunteer Connection Center provides regular opportunities to help in the food pantry, clothes closet, creating hygiene kits, and training for disaster relief service both locally and out of the area.

In Texas City, The Moody Family Center for Worship and Service is located at 4801 E F Lowry Expressway. This location offers a Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club and rent and utility assistance to the community.  Volunteer opportunities and requirements for this location are limited. For information on volunteer opportunities, contact Tracy Proctor at 409-996-4761 or Tracy.Proctor@uss.SalvationArmy.org
