AQUAMOVERS VOLUNTEER
Help older people stay active, connected and engaged through a supportive water-based exercise program.
As an Aqua Movers Volunteer, you'll support participants attending a weekly aquatic exercise program in Benalla. This enjoyable group activity promotes physical activity, social connection and community participation, while providing participants with the opportunity to maintain an active lifestyle in a welcoming environment.
How you can help
- Travel on the group bus to and from Benalla, providing support and companionship to participants throughout the journey.
- Assist participants during the Aqua Movers program and associated activities.
- Encourage social interaction and meaningful connections amongst group members.
- Support staff in creating a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment.
- Contribute to a positive and enjoyable experience for all participants.
What we're looking for
- A friendly, caring and reliable approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathy, patience and respect for people from diverse backgrounds.
- A genuine interest in supporting older people to remain active and connected.
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow staff guidance.
When you can volunteer
- Fridays 9:00am – 12:30pm.
