Recreation Programs

The Township of Tiny offers a variety of recreation programs and activities that support healthy lifestyles, social connection, and community spirit. With options for all ages and abilities, our goal is to provide accessible, engaging, and high-quality recreational experiences that enhance the overall well-being of our residents.


Soccer Coach

The Township offers fun, non-competitive leagues focused on fundamental skill development for children and youth in the Spring, Summer, and Fall. Volunteers instruct their team through the pre-assigned drill stations and provide a positive environment for participants to learn the fundamental movements of soccer. The Township hosts a training session each season to practice drills, instructions, and to ensure coaches are equipped with the knowledge and confidence necessary for the program. Volunteer coaches also receive one free soccer registration.

Pickleball Attendant

Pickleball is a paddle-sport program created for all skill levels; the rules are simple and the game is easy to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game. The Township hosts Pickleball drop-in program outdoors in the Spring, Summer, and Fall seasons. Volunteers foster a healthy and positive environment for participants to learn, practice, play, and grow in pickleball. The Township is responsible for facility maintenance, registration, and supplies, while volunteers provide supervision, organization, and assistance for new players.

Skills: Team player, good communication and interpersonal skills, exercises fairness in dealing with participants, enthusiastic, punctual, understands fundamentals of pickleball.


Shuffleboard Attendant

Shuffleboard is a low-impact sport where players use cues to push weighted discs, sending them gliding down a narrow court. The Township hosts the Shuffleboard drop-in program indoors all year round. Volunteers foster a healthy and positive environment for participants to learn, practice, play, and grow in shuffleboard. The Township is responsible for the set-up and take down of equipment and supplies, while volunteers provide supervision and assistance for new players.

Skills: Team player, good communication and interpersonal skills, exercises fairness in dealing with participants, enthusiastic, punctual, understands fundamentals of shuffleboard.


Nature Connect Ambassador

The Township offers the Nature Connect program, designed to foster social connections and community engagement among seniors through outdoor activities such as walking programs and guided adventures in parks, trails, and beaches. Volunteers welcome participants, help create an inclusive group atmosphere, and encourage safe, enjoyable experiences. They also assist with event setup, equipment organization, and share feedback with Township staff to ensure the continued success of the program.

Skills: Friendly and welcoming attitude, strong communication and interpersonal skills, comfort with outdoor activity in varying weather conditions, and enthusiasm for building community connections. No previous experience is required; training and orientation are provided.
