Position Purpose/Goals

• Maintain and beautify pollinator gardens created through the Protecting our Pollinators project.
• Help foster a healthier, more sustainable Township through long-term garden adoption and stewardship.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct spring preparation and fall cleanups.
• Plant, weed, prune, and deadhead flowers.
• Water and mulch as needed to maintain healthy garden beds.
• Follow site policies and use basic gardening tools appropriately.

Experience and Skills

• Interest in gardening or landscaping
• Reliable and independent
• Able to follow instructions and policies
• Comfortable using light tools (e.g., rakes, shovels)
• Gardening knowledge is an asset but not required.

Expected Time Commitment

• From May to September
• 2-4 hours per month
• Adopt a garden for as long as possible

Boundaries and Limitations

• Activity is limited to the property owned and managed by the Township of Tiny

Supervisor/Contact Person

• Special Events and Volunteer Coordinator or Designate

Level of Risk

• Low Risk
• Minimal interaction with others; always supervised when needed
• No access to cash or confidential information

Working Conditions

• Outdoors in varying weather; dress appropriately
• Sunscreen and insect repellent recommended
• Outdoor work may include light lifting and bending
