Working Groups - Soccer Program Working Group Member

The Township of Tiny is seeking community-minded volunteers to join the Soccer Program Working Group and support the planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of the Township’s child and youth soccer program. Working Group members help with seasonal program planning, contribute ideas at meetings, and support smooth program delivery during the season. Volunteer tasks may include promoting the program, recruiting and onboarding volunteer coaches, assisting with sponsorship/donation outreach, supporting curriculum and coach resources, helping with equipment and uniform distribution, and assisting with program events (e.g., opening day and end-of-season celebrations).

Position Purpose / Goals

  • To act as a member of the Soccer Program Working Group in partnership with the Township supporting the planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of the Township’s child and youth soccer program.

Tasks / Outline of Responsibilities

  • Learn and understand the goals, structure, and philosophy of the Township’s soccer program.
  • Actively support seasonal program planning and preparation.
  • During the soccer season, help ensure smooth delivery of program activities in keeping with established plans.
  • Participate in Working Group meetings and contribute ideas. Regular meeting attendance required.
  • Maintain communication with the Working Group Lead and Township staff.
  • Take on soccer-related duties between meetings, which may include:
    • Promoting the program
    • Help recruit volunteer coaches and support their onboarding
    • Assisting with sponsorship and donation outreach
    • Supporting curriculum development and coach resources
    • Organizing or assisting with equipment preparation and uniform distribution
    • Helping coordinate program events (opening day, end-of-season party)
    • Providing general program support (e.g., greeting families, assisting coaches, problem solving)

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Reliability and commitment to attend meetings and assist with program duties.

No soccer experience required – training and resources provided.

Time Commitment Expected

  • Attendance at scheduled Working Group meetings. Quarterly meetings will be held initially, with potential for increased frequency as the program develops. Members must be available to meet in-person or virtually.
  • Role-specific tasks between meetings, as assigned.
  • Estimated annual time commitment may range from 10 to 40 hours, depending on role responsibilities and availability.

Working Conditions/Accessibility

  • May require working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Volunteers should wear appropriate clothing/footwear and Township volunteer gear provided.
  • All reasonable accommodations will be made to support volunteer participation and accessibility needs.
