Saint Louise House

Saint Louise House is seeking caring and dependable Volunteer Interpreters to support families during our Community Night gatherings. Community Night is a time for connection, learning, and fun—and interpreters play a key role in ensuring that all families can fully participate. Volunteers assist staff by providing real-time interpretation between English and Spanish during activities, conversations, and educational sessions.

Responsibilities:

• Provide in-person interpretation between English and Spanish during Community Night events
• Support clear communication between staff, program facilitators, and resident families
• Help ensure families feel welcomed, included, and understood
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times

Qualifications:

• Fluent in English and Spanish
• Comfortable providing conversational, community-level interpretation
• Friendly, patient, and culturally sensitive
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Completion of Saint Louise House volunteer orientation and background check

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience interpreting professionally

Time Commitment:

• Community Night occurs two to four times a month on Thursday evenings
• 5 pm to 7 pm
