About us
Seetec is working with the Probation Service to support people on probation to build a better future and improve their wellbeing. We are committed to helping people break down the barriers they may face.
Ultimately, our aim is to equip individuals with the necessary skills needed to desist from offending and successfully reintegrate into their local communities.
To support this work, we have developed a volunteering service that supports participants to make positive changes in their lives so that their risk of re-offending is reduced, and fewer victims of crime are created.
Seetec recognise that volunteers contribute enormously to our mission and bring great benefits such as:
- Providing valuable links with the local community.
- Bringing new skills and interests.
- Acting as a positive role model.
- Complementing and enhancing the work of Seetec.
As well as the opportunity to make a difference, you will also gain:
- Valuable work experience leading to increased career opportunities.
- New and improved skills.
- Personal development and achievement.
- An opportunity to meet new people.
Our volunteers are not members of staff and have no employment status, and we are clear that volunteers are not used to replace the work of Seetec and its associated staff. However, your support gives important ‘added value’ and complements the work that they do. We remain fully aware that you are giving up your free time to volunteer with us in a role that can be very rewarding but also very challenging and difficult at times. We will provide you with a high level of support and guidance and will do all we can to ensure that your experience of volunteering with us is as rewarding and enjoyable as possible.
