Family Matters - Take-a-Break Drop In
Take-a-Break will be back Fall 2022!
Your volunteer shift will be from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. for the dates you have selected or have been assigned.
Description
Once-a-month on Friday mornings from 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. parents gather for information and networking sessions in English, helping to reduce the isolation of English-speaking families living in the area. You work as part of a team to look after children (under five years of age) to give parents a break from the demands of parenting and a chance to exchange with other parents.

Volunteer Responsibilities
You would arrive before the activity starts to set up the child’s space with toys, mats, seating, signs, snack cart and consequently tidy up at end of the activity, clean up snack cart, assemble the toys, sanitize and store them. You are expected to be prompt, reliable, enjoy interacting with kids (ages 0 -5), free of back injuries - able to push toy carts and bend and stretch to set up.

Volunteers are required to seek the help of the child’s parent if a child needs help with toileting.
