Join us for a day of cleanup and restoration at Potrero County Park as we work together to restore a recently acquired property within the park. This area is currently closed to the public and is awaiting environmental review, but it requires significant cleanup due to debris left behind by the former property owner.

This volunteer project will focus on removing trash and scrap materials and preparing the site for future restoration, helping protect the surrounding environment and improving overall park health.

Project Details:

Volunteers will assist with cleanup and restoration tasks on the closed property area, including:

  • Removing trash and debris

  • Collecting and clearing half-buried scrap metal

  • Assisting with chipping branches and fallen trees

  • Organizing cleared materials for proper disposal

This work is critical to preparing the site for future environmental review and long-term restoration.

Volunteer Details:

  • Open to adults and teens (minors must be accompanied by a guardian)

  • No experience required. County Parks staff will provide training, safety guidance, and tools

  • Tasks may involve lifting, bending, and working on uneven terrain

What to Bring:

  • Willingness to help restore a sensitive area of the park

  • Comfortable clothes, long pants, and sturdy closed-toe shoes

  • Work gloves (recommended)

  • Hat, sunscreen, and weather-appropriate layers

  • Reusable water bottle and snacks
