Social Services - Emergency Disaster Services Volunteers

What is a Emergency Disaster Service Volunteer? Individuals that provide food, clothing, emergency shelter and spiritual counseling for emergency responders and disaster victims. This could be from a vehicle accident or single story house fire to a major incident. When we are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, weekend, holidays.... whenever we are needed. We provide services in the Shawnee County or in the case of a major incident where ever we are called to. Our response team is staffed by volunteers. Our goal is to have five team of six or more members. One teamis always on stand by, mormallu for a week at a time. The program is directed by the EDS coordinator who is reponsible to The Salvation Army's Commanding Officer in Topeka.
