Program: Financial Wellness - Community Income Tax Intake Worker

Help Community Members Access Important Financial Supports

Many individuals and families rely on tax filing to access important benefits and financial supports. As a Community Income Tax Intake Worker, you'll help participants begin that process by ensuring the information needed for tax preparation is complete, organized, and ready for filing.

By creating a welcoming experience and supporting participants through the intake process, you'll help reduce barriers and ensure individuals can access the resources available to them.

About the Role

Reporting to the Financial Wellness Facilitator, you’ll support Carya's annual community tax filing program by welcoming participants, receiving tax documentation, and preparing files for Community Income Tax Filers. This seasonal volunteer opportunity combines training, participant interaction, and administrative support.

Why This Role Matters

Accurate tax filing often depends on having complete and organized information. By helping participants navigate the intake process, you'll support a positive experience and help individuals and families access benefits, credits, and financial supports that contribute to their financial wellbeing.

Requirements

This role requires the satisfactory provision of a Police Information Check (PIC), identified through Carya's volunteer risk assessment process. If you have an existing PIC issued within the previous three months to your application, we can accept this. If you do not have a current PIC, or your PIC was issued more than three months ago, we will need you to secure a new check. Carya's People & Culture Coordinator will provide support and guidance throughout this process.

A full role description will be shared with volunteers selected for this opportunity.
