Program: Elder Friendly Communities - BC - Technology Mentor (EFC)

Reporting to the Senior Spaces Facilitator, the Technology Mentor meets with older adults 55+ one-on-one to provide technology help with phones, tablets, or computers. The sessions run about 1 hour.

As a Technology Mentor, you should:

  • Be punctual and reliable.
  • Be patient with older adult learners.
  • Be an empathetic, clear, and patient communicator.
  • Have a good understanding of technology including iPads, laptops, and cell phones.
  • Align with Carya’s values of respect, kindness, creativity, collaboration, belonging and wellness.

 

You’ll get to meet new faces and see regular ones. You will also have the opportunity to develop and build relationships with our participants and staff alike, sharing experiences and adding value to our community.

Through analysis of the role utilizing a Risk Assessment Matrix, we have determined this is a high-risk position, which requires successful completion of a Police Information Check (PIC) with Vulnerable Sector Search (VSS). Our People & Culture Coordinator will assist you in completing this requirement.
