Location: Village Commons - Facilitator: Death Café
Reporting to the Community Engagement and Partnerships Supervisor, the Death Café Volunteer Facilitator delivers the program. This program connects like-minded people over a cup of coffee through guided conversations.
As a Death Café Volunteer Facilitator, you should:
- Be passionate about raising awareness of death and normalizing conversations around the topic.
- Be an empathetic, clear, and patient communicator.
- Have experience -or insight in hosting group discussions.
- Be cheery and friendly, with curiosity, care, and flexibility in welcoming people.
- Possess a comfort, openness, and respect for working with people as they are, including diverse life experiences, culture, identity, beliefs, and values.
- Have a basic understanding of technology including iPads, laptops, and cell phones.
- Align with Carya’s values of respect, kindness, creativity, collaboration, belonging and wellness.

Through analysis of the role utilizing a Risk Assessment Matrix, we have determined this is a medium-risk position, which requires successful completion of a Police Information Check (PIC) with Vulnerable Sector Search (VSS). Our People & Culture Coordinator will assist you in completing this requirement.
