Chaplaincy Volunteer

Chaplaincy & Spiritual Care

Chaplaincy volunteers visit patients in all our hospitals, under the direction of the chaplains. You need to feel at ease in a hospital ward, and you need to be a good listener. Chaplaincy support includes talking about matters of spirituality, life, health, death, grief, joy, nature, religion and more.  You don’t have to know everything, but you do need to enjoy meeting people and have a caring heart and an open mind.  We support patients, relatives and staff of any or no faith tradition. We run a training course each year for new volunteers; please contact the chaplaincy team for more information. chaplaincy@swft.nhs.uk
