Family Life Center - Organizing the Clothing Room
Activity Summary:
The Salvation Army Evangeline Booth Lodge provides individuals experiencing homelessness with clothes. In order to enhance individuals' dignity and offer them the choice of clothes, we need help organizing the clothing room
The Clothing Room Organizer will work with the staff to make this room organized and welcoming to all. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Organize clothing items by type, size, and gender
- Maintain a tidy room that is easy to navigate for both staff and individuals
This position is flexible! Volunteers can help Monday - Friday starting at 9:00am and stay as long as they like.
Qualifications:
- 18 years or older
- Excellent organization skills
- Ability to relate to and work with people from diverse backgrounds
- Reliable, professional, and hard working
- Pass initial screening process, including a background check
Policies:
Alcohol, drugs, and smoking are not permitted at any Salvation Army facilities or volunteer sites.
Pants/shorts and a shirt with sleeves must cover the waist and fit comfortably. Transparent and tight-fitting clothes are not permitted. For your safety, closed toe shoes are required.
For your safety and the safety of others, you need to bring and wear a personal face covering over your nose and mouth while volunteering. You will also complete a brief health screening prior to volunteering.
Off-street parking is available.
