Now that New Zealand has moved its COVID-19 response to Alert Level 2, ZEALANDIA has been able to re-open our volunteering programme on a limited basis. It is not a return to "normal" as we will not yet be taking on new volunteers.
Our current teams need time to adjust their work plans to current restrictions and there is a certain amount of catch-up work involved. Re-opening our volunteer programme to new volunteers also depends on what our government decides to do regarding restrictions in the future, and we have no way of knowing what will happen over the coming months.
While for the immediate future you won’t be able to spend time volunteering with us, there are many other ways to support conservation work in your area. Simple things like joining a predator-free initiative near you or doing your own backyard trapping, or cleaning up litter along our streams and waterways, all help support nature and help it to thrive. Small changes can make a big difference!
OUR PURPOSE - TE KUPU TAUĀKĪ
