Volunteer Opportunities

Preparing Boxes

Working inside to prepare the main part of the boxes to be distributed each afternoon. Must be able to lift 20+ lbs and stand for periods of time. 

Shifts available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays: 9:30am-12:30pm and 1:00pm-4:00pm

Bagging Meat

Organizing and bagging meats to be distributed each afternoon. 

Must be able to lift 20+ lbs and stand for periods of time. 

Shifts available Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays: 9:30am-12:30pm

Distributing Boxes

Working outside to distribute food. Must be able to lift 20+ lbs and stand for periods of time. 

Shifts available Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays: 12:30pm-4:00pm  

Clothes Closets

Working outside during our once a month Clothes Closets. Duties may include welcoming families, folding clothes, keeping the shopping area tidy, restocking, etc. 

Shifts available one Friday each month: 9:00am-12:30pm

Unloading Crew

Helping unload large deliveries. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs and stand for periods of time. 

Shifts available Mondays: 9:30am-12:00pm

Donation Driver

Picking up donations at area businesses and delivering to Toco Hills Community Alliance. 

Must be able to lift 20+lbs and have your own transportation. 

Shifts vary depending on store availability. 

Kitchen Crew

Working with a crew to prepare hot lunches made to-go to be shared during afternoon distribution. 

Must be 18 or older. 

Shifts available Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays: 8:30am-1:00pm.

Mission Statement

OUR MISSION

To provide assistance and support for individuals and families living in our service area (DeKalb County for food; 9 zip code area: 30030, 30032, 30033, 30319, 30324, 30329, 30340, 30341, 30345),  including those experiencing homelessness and veterans who  are without sufficient food for themselves or their families.

 

OUR GOALS

To make available emergency food assistance to individuals and families in need in the northeast communities of Atlanta. To sponsor and promote assistance programs and services that will result in greater economic stability and independence for those individuals and families in need. To provide opportunities for individuals and organizations to be of service to their neighbors by helping individuals and families in need.
