VOLUNTEER OPENINGS - CAREERDEV: Associate Director of Career Development

Role: Associate Director of Career Development / the Career Development Specialist

Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:

Weekly:

  • 1 - 2 hours per week performing employer and recruiter outreach in order to source leads for potential job board posters.
  • Log volunteer hours real-time or weekly

Monthly (Periodically):

  • Bi-weekly: Update Director of Career Development on outreach metrics (by either via email or 15 minute video conference)
  • Monthly: (optional) Attend monthly Career Development Planning Session (currently virtual meeting)
  • Ad Hoc: Share ideas for improvements and innovations in processes and programs

Skills Required:

  • Energy and enthusiasm for the role and for the vision of the PMI-LA chapter
  • Knowledge, training, and desire to utilize project management skills to improve chapter procedures
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for effective communication to project teams and stakeholders
  • Able to thrive in a fast-passed, self-starter environment
  • Office 365 skill is nice-to-have but not required

Expected Level of Effort:

  • Minimum of 1 hour per week - with additional time as needed

Current Sample of Projects:

  • LinkedIn outreach to job posters, employers, and recruiters to source potential job board listings
  • Creation of marketing assets for job board outreach campaigns
  • Research other industry job boards, and summarize best practices
