Welcoming Community Initiatives

Welcoming Community Dinner

The City of PAE is an accredited Welcoming City. We are also home to the Welcoming Centre in SA, at Kilburn Community Centre. This partnership and co-location complements and extends existing activities and efforts to further advance communities where everyone can belong, contribute and thrive. At the City of PAE, we are proud of our diversity. The rich heritage of our First Nations people, together with those from countries around the globe, is what makes PAE such a unique place to live, work and play. Our community’s diversity inspires and is reflected in our food, art, enterprise, traditions, festivals and celebrations.

Currently, we are working together with Welcoming Australia to create a ‘Welcoming Precinct’, in Kilburn and surrounding areas, through collaborative projects, initiatives and activities.

We are looking for volunteers to help us run monthly Welcoming Community Dinners – originally a Welcoming Australia initiative, now delivered in collaboration with the City of PAE. Welcoming Community Dinners are a great opportunity for our community members to meet new friends, support newcomers and share in food, fun and friendship!
