Are you passionate about local history, tourism and your local area? Volunteering at the Port Adelaide Information Centre may be the perfect place for you!
The Port Adelaide Visitor Information Centre is located in an 1860 heritage-listed building which originally housed the customs, courts, police station and cells. The building has since been refurbished to accommodate a tourist and information centre, Art Gallery which features artwork from local artists and the Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary Display Room. It also provides free bike hire services and hosts events throughout the year.
Volunteer Information Officer
As a volunteer at the Visitor Information Centre, you will meet a wide range of people coming through the centre, ranging from tourists to locals interested in the Port Adelaide area. You will be trained to assist your knowledge of local tourism attractions and services and the local area.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service by providing a range of information and services to visitors and customers both face to face and via phone
- Provide assistance with record keeping, mail-outs, receipts etc.
- Undertake “point of sale’ duties and a range of administrative and clerical functions to support efficient customer service.

When and Where
The Visitor Information Centre is open Wednesday to Sunday 10am - 5pm located at 66 Commercial Road, Port Adelaide 5015.

Port Adelaide Cruise Ship Ambassador
We are seeking passionate and dedicated volunteers who are keen to ensure cruise ship passengers experience all there is to see, do, and eat in our local area. Teams of two Cruise Ship Ambassadors will be situated at key locations in Port Adelaide, Semaphore and Outer Harbor to greet arriving visitors.

Various locations through out the Port Adelaide area. Shifts will be 2-3 hours on key dates to coincide with Cruise ship arrivals (October – April).
