Based at the health centre- but seeing people in a variety of community settings

Days / times of the week:
Any time between 9am- 5pm Mon to Fri
Please note: volunteering hours are not to exceed 6 hours per day and 3 days per week
|

4.Commitment:
|
Minimum 6 month commitment
|
|
5.Role Tasks:
|
you may be asked to:
- Complete joint clinical visits with professionals from the Occupational therapy ( OT), Physiotherapy (PT) and Speech and language therapy ( SLT) team.
- Complete follow-up clinical session with direction and supervision for a member of the OT, PT or SLT, to support Treatment plans
- Facilitate clinic and groups, with clinicians – meet and greet patients, set up appt, completing clinical recordings, etc
- Provide clinical admin support on occasion
The above will be in the clinic base, in patients’ homes and in other community settings
you will NOT be asked to:
- Hold responsibility for clinical cases
- Work without supervision

6.Skills and Attributes Required:
|
- Some knowledge and/ or experience of a community LD team or a community rehab team, or similar
- Some experience in the area of one or more professional approaches, OT, PT or SLT
- Be able to work under direction
- Have good communication skills, verbal and written
- Be able to come to the work base and also access the community
|

9.COVID-19 Guidance
|
In line with government advice volunteers must:
-
- Be healthy, fit and well
- Not fall into one of the population groups that are considered to be more vulnerable to COVID-19
- All volunteers must be made aware of the need to stop volunteering should they feel unwell and to follow the latest government and NHS advice for the public especially regarding COVID-19 symptoms.
- Training, guidance and induction to be provided via e-learning or
virtual technology where possible

10.Support / Training
|
All new volunteers will receive a local induction and will be required to undertake mandatory training.
|
|
11.Expenses
|
Volunteers can claim expenses for mileage as per volunteer handbook
|
|
