Dog Caregiver
AARCS Safe Haven is designed as a temporary, emergency and quarantine shelter. As we are primarily foster home based, there are no adoptable animals at AARCS Safe Haven. For those dogs who are staying at Safe Haven, our Dog Caregivers are essential! Caregivers are responsible for walking, feeding, cleaning cages, administering any basic medications, socializing, and other shelter duties related to the dogs (such as laundry and dishes).
Dog Caregiver shifts are 8 am, 12 pm and 7 pm, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Shift lengths may vary depending on how many dogs are in shelter, and the number of caregivers signed up. We do ask of a minimum of 2 shifts per month, from each caregiver.
As we care for all types of dogs - young, old, behavioural, medical etc - all potential caregivers should have some dog experience and a willingness to learn!
