Companion Connections
Companion Connections is a program that introduces volunteers to older isolated residents in our community. Volunteers spend time with their companion, sharing stories, having a cup of tea/coffee together and creating a connection with one another.
Visits can be weekly or fortnightly– whatever works best for you and your companion.
For older residents, receiving a visit at home and having a conversation with a volunteer can create connection, ease feelings of isolation and have a positive impact on mental health. Volunteers can enjoy knowing they’ve contributed to other’s wellbeing through sharing their time and stories. A great return on a small investment!
