Grameen Foundation’s Capital Management & Advisory Center (CMAC) seeks a volunteer to help the team in preparing financial reviews and analysis of microfinance institutions, quarterly financial reviews of existing investments and providing market research of industry and regulatory developments in Asia and Africa. The position is for the summer of 2011 and is an unpaid position. Grameen Foundation’s Capital Management & Advisory Center (CMAC) seeks to harness the resources of the financial markets to support rapid expansion in outreach to poor families by leading, poverty-focused microfinance institutions. CMAC supports microfinance institutions with a range of financial products and services, including direct loans and loan guarantees. The CMAC Intern will actively participate in all aspects of CMAC operations. PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND OBJECTIVES The volunteer will focus in Africa and Asia and is expected to: -Prepare financial review and analysis of microfinance institutions for prospective investments; -Prepare quarterly financial review and analysis of existing investments; -Provide market research of industry and regulatory developments; and -Provide some administrative support and other duties as needed. INTERN REQUIREMENTES The CMAC team seeks 1 volunteer with: -Superior quantitative and Excel skills; -Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; and, -Excellent research and organizational skills with attention to detail. The CMAC team will provide access to all required background material and facilitate any internal meetings. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION The Capital Management & Advisory Center volunteer will work at least 20 hours per week either at the Grameen Foundation office in Washington DC during normal business hours or remotely. Start date: June 01, 2011. End date: August 30, 2011. This is an unpaid position. Dates and hours are negotiable and can be finalized once selected.
