Martha Retreat Centre

Martha Retreat Centre built a raised garden bed area in summer 2023.  It is a beautiful area that is designed to grow produce that the Centre can use for meals to reduce the cost of food and become self-sustaining.  The area produced a bounty of food in its first year and the possibilities are endless!  Excess food is given to the Lethbridge Food Bank. 

Volunteers best suited to this opportunity have gardening experience, are physically mobile and can do some light lifting. 

Volunteers are needed to help with any of the following tasks:

· Plan the garden by deciding which veggies to grow.

· Determining germination times.

· Seeding.

· Watering.

· Weeding.

· Weed mitigation.

· Composting.

· Harvesting.

· Tidying and organizing storage shed and plant box area.
