On The House: Nourishing Communities, Reducing Waste |
At On The House, we harness the power of community to create meaningful change. Our mission is built on three interconnected pillars:
1. Reducing Food Waste
Every day, businesses discard tons of perfectly good food. We:
- Rescue this food from going to waste
- Carefully sort and distribute it
- Prevent unnecessary waste while giving back to our environment and community
2. Feeding Those in Need
We believe everyone deserves access to nutritious food. Our comprehensive approach includes:
- Operating pop-up Free Stores across the community
- Providing individuals and families with free, nutritious food
- Supporting foodbanks and community groups with surplus food from our central Hub
- Ensuring access to healthy kai, regardless of circumstances
3. Building Community Through Connection and Participation
Our volunteers are the heartbeat of our mission. They:
- Sort food at our central Hub
- Help at our Free Stores, filling reusable bags with essentials
- Forge friendships and share experiences beyond their volunteer work
What sets us apart is the sense of community we foster. It's not just about giving—it's about:
- Growing together
- Sharing joy
- Making a lasting impact
Join us in this rewarding journey. Together, we can create a stronger, more connected community while addressing crucial issues of food waste and hunger.
