Drum Circle (Wednesday Afternoons)

 

 

Act as recreation support to promote and encourage activity. The volunteer provides a supportive and caring environment for patients.

 

 

·        Possess excellent interpersonal skills, with superior communication skills on sensitive and/or confidential issues.

·        Able to work independently with minimal supervision and/or able to work as part of a team

·        Ability to lift  different instruments

·        Possess confidence, maturity and able to take appropriate initiative while working within assignment

·        True commitment towards helping others in the spirit of volunteerism

 

·        Check-in with designated drum circle staff member

·        Assist in setting up of activity in Auditorium

·        Transport drums as needed from storage

·        Welcome patients and participants as they enter the room , provide warm welcoming atmosphere

·        Answer questions about activity and assist during activity

·        Take part in activity and encourage patients to participate in a positive manner

·        Assist in cleaning up and putting away of all equipment

 

 

·        The volunteer will attend a general AHS volunteer orientation delivered by Volunteer Resources.

·        The volunteer will complete at least 1 -2 buddy shifts with a current volunteer or observing the program
