Summer Teen Volunteer Opportunities 

  1. All applicants must apply for desired position by May 25th and must be at least 14 years old.
  2. All applicants will be interviewed to ensure skills are matched to appropriate position.
  3. All teens selected must attend the orientation and training on Saturday, June 4th 9:00am to 1:00pm.

Volunteer opportunities and details are listed below:

Prehistoric Preschool –Held Mondays in June from 9am to 11am for children ages 4 and 5 years old.

June 6th:Dino Super Heroes, June 13th:Dino Detectives, June 20th:Dino Pals, June 27th:Mighty Monsters.

Required Orientation/Training – Saturday, June 4th from 9:00am to 1:00pm.

Position: Teen Group Leader

Job Responsibilities 
Help set up activity areas before classes begin, greet children, facilitate gathering activity, stay with assigned group of children, engage and participate with children during activities, stay with children until they are picked up by care-giver, help clean up activities

Skills, Attitudes, Knowledge
Enjoy working with young children, able to follow directions, work in teams, available for entire week of camp

Note: You may sign up for more than one camp session if your schedule permits.

Dinosaur Days! Summer Camps- Held Wednesday- Friday in June and July for children ages 6 to 12 years old.

June 8th  to 10th and July 13th to15th are Walking with Dinos where budding scientists explore dinosaur anatomy – especially locomotion.  June 15th to 17th and July 20th to 22nd are Dino Discovery camps where the dino detective method is used to discover hidden paleo clues.  July 27th to July 29th is Mighty Mesozoic Monsters featuring a variety scary creatures!

Required Orientation/Training- Saturday, June 4th from 9:00am to 1:00pm.

Exploration Station – June and July, weekdays from 10am to 1:30pm and 1:30pm to 5pm

Required Orientation/Training – Saturday, June 4th from 9:00am to 1:00pm.

Position: Exploration Station Facilitator

Job Responsibilities 
Set up and clean up the Exploration Station.  Welcome visitors into the room and assist them as needed.  Engage with visitors encouraging them to make the most of their experience.  Keep the area clear of clutter and ensure items are available for visitors to enjoy. Ensure caregivers accompany all children.
