Year Round Day-of-Caring Needs

United Way of Santa Rosa County believes that a day of caring is not narrowed into one day of the year, but every day of the year. Through a daily needs assessment, we recognize that Day(s) of Caring is mobilization to perform community service work and respond to critical social problems in the community.

Hundreds of caring volunteers (individual, and teams of employees from numerous local organizations) year round help paint buildings, assist the handicapped, repair campgrounds, and perform other tasks for community health and human service agencies. Through our partnership with local charities, organizations, and identify individual community needs, we tackle the problems surrounding the struggles in our neighborhoods.

Mission Statement

Our Mission

United Way of Santa Rosa County improves lives by mobilizing the caring power of the Santa Rosa County Community.

Our Vision

We will build a stronger America by mobilizing our community to improve people's lives. To do this we are working to advance the common good by focusing on the building blocks to a good life: health, education and income stability.

Our National Goals are Adopted Locally

In 2008, when United Way initiated a program designed to achieve the following goals:

  • Improve education, and cut in half the number of high school dropouts, which is 1.2 million students, every year.
  • Help people achieve financial stability, and get 1.9 million working families, half the number of lower income families who are financially unstable, on the road to economic independence.
  • Promote healthy lives, and increase by one-third the number of youth and adults who are healthy and avoid risky behaviors.

Our goals are ambitious, but with your help, and by utilizing our core strengths, a national network, committed partners, and public engagement capacity, we can achieve them.
