MAVA Overview: The Minnesota Alliance for Volunteer Advancement (MAVA) connects, educates, strengthens and advocates for volunteer engagement leaders and their organizations to positively impact communities. MAVA works to build capacity for hundreds of organizations and government entities.

 

MAVA seeks to benefit from diversity of volunteer backgrounds, skills sets and knowledge base.

 

Position: Greater Minnesota (GM) Membership Development and Outreach Coordinator (Volunteer/Intern)

 

Service Impact:

This position is designed to connect with volunteer engagement professionals throughout Greater MN (GM) to:

  • build networks and engagement in MAVA District Councils
  • promote MAVA membership benefits to perspective new members and lapsing MAVA members
  • gather input on how MAVA can help volunteer engagement professionals meet their professional and program goals
  • promote MAVA educational opportunities and events

 

Accountable To: Greater MN Program Manager

 

Responsibilities:

  • Reach out to staff at Greater Minnesota nonprofits and governmental entities (municipalities, cities, counties) to market MAVA membership benefits, and invite to networking opportunities and MAVA events
  • Personally, connect with potential MAVA members statewide through telephone, web conferencing (Google Meet, Zoom, etc.) and in-person meetings
  • Reach out to new MAVA members to welcome, orient and assess needs
  • Keep accurate records of contact dates, contact information and results of contact connection
  • Meet with the Greater MN Program Manager and Membership Manager on a regular basis

Time Commitment: 5 hours per week minimum
