The Recreation Associate assists with various activities at the site. They encourage client's participation in activities.
Recreation Associate are the extra pair of "helping hands" that add to the trained services of the Long-term care facility staff, working together to enhance the lives of residents
Activities include, but are not limited to: Reading groups, puzzles, games, bingo, nail painting, going for walks, group painting, crafts, exercise programs, and special events like Christmas parties and teas. Birthday parties, volunteer group outings.

Volunteers will have a sense of fulfilment and purpose by interacting with members of the community, contributing to the mental, social, emotional and physical well-being of others within the community
Duties include :
-Engaging patients in activities, such as: visiting, reading, writing letters, playing cards, setting puzzles.
-Providing patients with videos, magazines, and books.
-Prepare the patients for supper by tidying their bed tables, and providing shirt savers.
-Filling and handing out of water jugs to those that need.
-Taking residents for walks or strolls if allowed.
-Reporting any injuries or unusual occurrences to the Nurse-in-Charge.
-Seasonal Decorating as assigned.
-Updating posters and pamphlets in facility.
Shifts available Monday - Friday evenings

Meals on Wheels Volunteers play a vital role in delivering nutritious meals to clients assessed as needing support with their nutrition.
This role offers a rewarding experience, allowing volunteers to develop communication skills, gain new job-related skills, establish a consistent routine, and contribute to their community in a meaningful way.
Volunteers will collect meals from the designated location, at a set time and deliver them directly to clients in their homes.
Shifts typically occur during lunchtime hours, with routes available in Ponteix, Coronach , Assiniboia, Herbert, Mankota or LaFleche.
