Town of Gilbert

The East Valley Community Impact Day brings together 50 service providers to offer comprehensive resources and services to 200+ individuals experiencing homelessness and those at risk of homelessness. Providers will offer housing assistance, healthcare, mental health services, employment support, legal aid, benefits assistance, and much more. Our goal is to create a welcoming, dignified, and respectful environment that connects guests to services that can create pathways out of homelessness.

Date: Wednesday, March 4, 2026
Volunteer Hours: 7:00am - 5:00pm (multiple shifts available)
Location: Redemption Gilbert - 1820 W Elliot Rd. 

100 Volunteers (over 18) are needed to serve in one of these key areas:

• Setup Team - Arrange tables, chairs, equipment, signage, and prepare all stations before guests arrive, then transition to roving support
• Guest Check-In - Welcome guests warmly, check them in, provide wristbands, answer questions, and maintain organized flow
• Concierge - Volunteers will guide guests through the tables/process 
• Restroom/Roving Team - Rotate between checking restroom cleanliness/supplies and circulating water/snacks and assist guests
• Meal Service & Kitchen - Prepare food, serve meals with dignity and respect, maintain food safety standards, and cleanup
• Clothing Tables - Organize clothing by size and type, assist guests in finding items, maintain neat displays throughout the day
• Shower Trailers – Assist with distribution of towels and toiletries, track usage
• Belongings Check - Securely check in and out guest belongings using numbered claim tickets, maintain security of storage area
• Roving Support - Continuously circulate throughout the event distributing water and snacks, answering questions, connecting guests to services, and creating a welcoming atmosphere
• Teardown & Cleanup - Break down all stations, pack materials, remove trash, deep clean restrooms, and return facility to original condition

There will be 2 volunteer trainings: 

Both are virtual using Microsoft Teams. You will be asked to sign up for one (1) training.
