*ADMIN: AEF/BCEF - Pennies Posse
Every Penny Counts has been AIDS Emergency Fund's signature fundraising campaign since Fred Skau first put a jar on top of his bar on Polk Street in 1987 with a sign asking for donations to help people with AIDS. Since that time, AEF has distributed hundreds of Every Penny Counts (EPC) jars throughout the community to businesses and schools, raising significant funds each year to help our clients.
EPC is as simple and direct as fundraising gets. It allows the community to get involved, raising not only badly-needed funds, but also awareness of the continuing need to provide immediate, compassionate financial support for people living with disabling HIV/AIDS.
AEF has always been fortunate to attract dedicated volunteers who are passionate about Every Penny Counts. But as some of our longtime EPC volunteers have retired or moved, we find ourselves needing and wanting to recruit new volunteers into the program. So we have created the Pennies Posse: volunteers who can help us get new penny jars out into the community, help keep an eye on those jars, and encourage community support for the program.
There are no specific hours; it can be done on your own time, your own schedule. However, we would like to kick off the Pennies Posse with an orientation and training meeting in April.
If you are interested in being part of this campaign, and continuing the long-standing tradition of AEF, please sign up for the Pennies Posse and we will contact you to schedule a meeting.
Thank you!
