Governance and Committee Opportunities

RHS Horticulture and Sustainability Board Member

Do you have a passion for plants, horticulture and sustainability? Could you give your time, skills and expertise to help the UK’s leading gardening charity by joining it’s decision-making Horticulture and Sustainability Board?

The RHS Horticulture and Sustainability Board is one of the charity’s key decision-making groups. The Board guides the RHS in bringing the science, skills and creativity of gardening to life. It ensures that our work matches our sustainability plan and that we hit our environmental targets. It meets four times a year, both at the RHS headquarters Vincent Square and at RHS Wisley.

We are looking to diversify the skillset on the RHS Horticulture and Sustainability Board to ensure that we can be as impactful as possible. We are particularly interested to hear from applicants below 35 years to add further diversity of thought to our Board. We are also interested to hear from individuals with experience of skills training, education and careers in horticulture although this is not an essential requirement. If you feel you would add value to the RHS’s strategic purpose and direction, we would love to hear from you. Please click here see the Horticulture and Sustainability Board Terms of reference.

The RHS welcomes applications from individuals from all personal and professional backgrounds, irrespective of race, ethnicity, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, religion, belief, socio-economic background, neurodiversity, or any other characteristics.

To apply, please complete an application form, even if you have volunteered with us before. Please note this link will take you through to our Volunteer Portal where, if you have not already done so, you will be prompted to create a log in before progressing to the application form. If you have used this system before, please use your existing log in details.

All applications to be received by Friday 22nd May
