Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer for California State Parks Volunteers In Parks Program (VIPP) at the Orange Coast District! The Orange Coast District is comprised of six different parks, encompassing just over 3,200 acres of sandy shore, rocky intertidal, coastal sage scrub, and coast live oak communities. The parks provide refuge for sensitive plant and animals, protect important cultural resources, and host an array of recreational activities, special events, and educational opportunities throughout the year. As diverse as our parks are, each has unique volunteer opportunities available. Our volunteers serve as stewards and help to connect our communities with the natural world. While doing this, they enhance their skillset and inspire passion for the environment and our parks. By becoming a volunteer for the VIPP at the Orange Coast District, you help to support California State Park’s mission for years to come.

Looking for an opportunity be to a steward of our coast? Well, look no further! California Coastal Cleanup Day is on Saturday, September 18, 2021! What is California Coastal Cleanup Day, you ask? California Coastal Cleanup Day engages communities to clean up litter in all areas, from local neighborhoods to city parks to state beaches, as all litter eventually makes its way down to the ocean! To find site locations and to register, visit Orange County Coastkeeper’s Coastal Cleanup Day page. Thank you and see you at your happy place!
While we are accepting volunteers for California Coastal Cleanup Day and cleanups in general (more information is below), we are not accepting volunteer applications for our other volunteer positions. Please continue to check this page for updates and follow us on social media!
