Would you like to make a real difference to patients within the hospital?
Are you compassionate, caring, patient and kind?
If you answered yes to all of these, our Ward teams would love to meet you. Our Wards are currently seeking volunteers to come in and provide much-needed support to our patients and staff by:

  • collecting specialised cutlery for those patients who need it,
  • sitting with patients whilst they eat to offer encouragement, refill drinks and load cutlery for those who may require it,
  • assisting with clearing down at the end of of mealtimes,
  • (after specific training) assist/feed patients who have been identified as needing this extra support & document amount eaten in food record charts.
This role is ideal for volunteers who might have slightly less time to spare. You will be based on a ward during a busy part of the day, interacting with patients and staff, helping to build confidence, whilst meeting new people.
Specific training will be provided by the Trust. Shifts available between 11:30am-1:30pm & 4:30-6:30pm, Monday to Friday.

If this sounds like something you'd like to try and you can spare 2 hours on the same time/day each week, please complete our Expression of Interest Form and we will be in touch on the link below.
