Would you like to make a real difference to patients within the hospital?
At any one time there are a number of patients who would benefit from additional support and encouragement at mealtimes. As a mealtime support volunteer you will directly play a part in assisting patients experience a faster recovery and enjoy better outcomes.
This role is ideal for volunteers who might have slightly less time to spare. You will be based on a ward during a busy part of the day, interacting with patients and staff, helping to build confidence, whilst meeting new people.

Specific training will be provided by the Trust.
Shifts available between 11:30am-1:30pm & 4:30-6:30pm, Monday to Friday.
For more details or to apply please email Volunteers@esneft.nhs.uk. Applicants must be aged 18 and over. Please note this role is not available on an ad-hoc basis and you must be able to commit to the same shift each week.

'This Is Me' Support Volunteer - Colchester & Ipswich

We are looking for volunteers to support and aid the nursing teams to provide person centred care to those patients who are living with dementia.

This is an exciting role where you really can make a difference to a patients hospital stay by giving them a voice when completing 'This Is Me' paperwork which will enable clinical staff to engage with patients about what interests them which opens the door to more engaging conversations.

In this role you would get to visit different wards and patients each shift, ensuring no shifts are ever the same. So if you are active, someone who likes talking to others and would like the opportunity to make a real difference to the care of patients who don’t always have a voice than this could be the perfect role for you.

Current shifts available Monday-Friday 10am-2pm. Please contact Volunteers@esneft.nhs.uk for more information.

Applicants must be aged 18 and over. Please note this role is not available on an ad-hoc basis and you must be able to commit to the same shift each week.
