City of Tea Tree Gully Volunteers

The Library Access Services team are currently looking for 4-5 volunteers to assist in providing a Home Library Service to residents in residential care facilities and their own homes who are unable to visit the Library themselves. Volunteering in this role usually requires about 1-2 hours per month and you will be allocated 1 person at a time. 

Duties include collecting library items matched to your allocated customers reading likes, delivering them to the customer’s door, monitoring the account for overdue items and placing holds as required.

 A kind and empathetic nature is essential, as you assist customers who are vulnerable and or isolated and a clear and concise phone manner is also important. Due to the nature of the service, a drivers licence, current registration, comprehensive insurance and access to your own transport is a must (mileage reimbursements are provided).

You can volunteer on your own or team up with another volunteer if you prefer.

Your role is simple but meaningful: open the gallery, greet visitors as they come in, and help ensure the artwork remains safe. It’s a lovely way to spend a peaceful shift while supporting a creative community.

Volunteer Workshop Supervisors Wanted – Men's Shed

Are you experienced in woodworking and enjoy sharing your skills with others?

We are seeking motivated and community-minded volunteers to join our Men's Shed Workshop as Volunteer Supervisors.

About the Role Volunteer one day per week (approximately 6 hours) supporting men to learn and develop woodworking skills in a safe and welcoming environment.

As a Volunteer Supervisor, you will:

• Assist in overseeing workshop activities and participants.
• Support a range of community projects, including outdoor play structures for kindergartens and schools.
• Help repair and restore items for local residents.
• Encourage skill development and social connection among workshop participants.
• Have access to workshop facilities to work on your own personal projects.

What We're Looking For

• Considerable experience using woodworking machinery and tools.
• A commitment to workplace safety and mentoring others.
• A willingness to support community projects and work as part of a team.

Requirements

• Attend bi-monthly Supervisors' Meetings.
• Complete an induction process, including demonstrating competency on all workshop machinery.
• Commit to volunteering one day per week.

We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers with an minimum of one or two mornings free per week to drive local residents to appointments. 

Duties include providing transport for Home and Community support clients who need assistance to attend medical appointments in Adelaide or North Adelaide.

Volunteers may use Council vehicles for this purpose or may use their own car (if suitable). It must have full comprehensive insurance and be well maintained. Mileage reimbursement will be provided.

A current drivers licence is essential.

Calling all lovers of Dungeons and Dragons! We are on the hunt for special volunteer Games Masters who would be interested in running a regular D&D program in the Library. The game would be played specifically on tabletop and you would be available either on a Monday or Wednesday evening or weekends during library hours to facilitate the D&D session (this could go for several hours).

The Active Ageing Transport program supports members of our Community to get to local shopping centres, medical appointments, community centres and clubs. The service is often described as a ‘social club on wheels’ as it also offers social outings with relationships fostered onboard with chats and jokes between the passengers and volunteers.

We currently have vacancies for community van drivers and also buddies. These roles will include orientation on various bus routes and services and can include fill-in shifts as negotiated.

When:  Weekdays
Time:  Approx 4 hour shifts
Days and times very depending on needs of the service and by mutual agreement.
