Arts Volunteer - Gallery 1855

Gallery 1855

Would you enjoy volunteering as a supervisor at Gallery 1855? It’s a calm, relaxing space most of the time, so you’re welcome to read, write, sketch, or enjoy another quiet activity while you’re there. You can volunteer on your own or team up with another volunteer if you prefer.

Your role is simple but meaningful: open the gallery, greet visitors as they come in, and help ensure the artwork remains safe. It’s a lovely way to spend a peaceful shift while supporting a creative community.

 

 

Medical & Shopping Transport

Medical transport

We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers with an minimum of one or two mornings free per week to drive local residents to appointments. 

Duties include providing transport for Home and Community support clients who need assistance to attend medical appointments in Adelaide or North Adelaide.

Volunteers may use Council vehicles for this purpose or may use their own car (if suitable). It must have full comprehensive insurance and be well maintained. Mileage reimbursement will be provided.

A current drivers licence is essential.

Community Transport Driver and Buddy

Do you want to make a difference in someone’s life? Do you enjoy driving and meeting new people?

The Active Ageing Transport program supports members of our Community to get to local shopping centres, medical appointments, community centres and clubs. The service is often described as a ‘social club on wheels’ as it also offers social outings with relationships fostered onboard with chats and jokes between the passengers and volunteers.

We currently have vacancies for community van drivers and also buddies. These roles will include orientation on various bus routes and services and can include fill-in shifts as negotiated.

When:  Weekdays
Time:  Approx 4 hour shifts
Days and times very depending on needs of the service and by mutual agreement.

Active Ageing Social Program - Kitchen

We have an exciting opportunity for individuals who have a passion for cooking and a great sense of humour. We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to join our team and gain valuable experience working in a commercial kitchen.

Our Active Ageing programs are dedicated to providing vital social support for the aged and vulnerable members of our community. By volunteering with us, You’ll not only hone your culinary skills but also bring joy and laughter to those who need it most.

Justice of the Peace Service

Are you an appointed JP and have some spare time on your hands.

An opportunity has become available to join our JP Program and assist members of the community by administering Oaths and witnessing under various Acts, Statutory Documentation required for official or legal purposes.

JP Roster:  Available to back-up Monday to Friday between 10am and 1pm or 1pm to 4pm as required.

Where: City of Tea Tree Gully, 571 Montague Road, Modbury
Training: One on one training will be provided with a qualified Justice of the Peace.

Must be an appointed Justice of the Peace for the State of South Australia and have a clear understanding of the Attorney General's Justice of the Peace Handbook.
