El Nino Preparation - Volunteers

Help support our community by volunteering at the Filled Sandbag Distribution Event serving residents in flood-prone areas throughout San Diego.

- Saturday, November 7
- Saturday, November 14
Time: 9:00am (volunteer check in at 8:30am)
Volunteer Locations:
Encanto Recreation Center
6508 Wunderlin Ave, San Diego, CA 92114 

We are seeking volunteers to assist with:

• Unloading filled sandbags from pallets
• Lifting and moving sandbags (35-45 lbs.)
• Loading sandbags into approved vehicles

Important: Forklifts will not be available at all locations, so volunteers should be prepared for physical work.

PPE Required: Volunteers must bring their own personal protective equipment including steel toed boots, gardening gloves, and proper clothing attire for lifting, bending and kneeling.
