The Salvation Army - Milwaukee County

Hello Volunteer Partners,

Thank you so much for volunteering with our Feed the Kids Program.

We understand how difficult it maybe to volunteer during this crisis. You have shown us in a great way how you care about the communities we serve.

As of August 1 The Salvation Army and it's volunteer partners have packaged and delivered over 25,000, lunches to 7 different territories during this crisis!

This is a summer meal program designed to help meet the needs of children in Milwaukee neighborhoods.  The Salvation Army vans bring lunch meals to neighborhoods, parks and street corners to serve each day, Monday through Friday, from June to August 21. The location is 5880 N 60 Street, Milwaukee, WI..

The meal assembly for the Feed the Kids program is completely volunteer supported. Twenty volunteers are needed Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 pm. (or until meal assembly is completed).

Youth under age 18 must have approval from parent or guardian in order to volunteer. This form is available to print here:  Parental Consent Form   Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.  Groups of teens or children require one adult per every four children.

Duties include:  Meal preparation, assembly, light clean-up and room set-up for the next day.

During this time of crisis the following process will remain in place; A temperature will be taken at the entry door, you may bring a mask or one will be provided as well as aprons, gloves, head coverings. Twenty seconds of hand-washing will take place prior to the start of this activity.

Thank you for volunteering!!
