Patient/Family Advisors: Grey Nuns Community Hospital Surgery Program Quality Council
We are looking for people who have had previous surgical experience, either as a patient, caregiver, family member or friend, and are interested in becoming a Patient Family Advisor on the Grey Nuns Community Hospital Surgery Program Quality Council. Members contribute regularly to the Council’s quality management activities.
Participation of patients and family is foundational to delivery of high-quality health care services. By involving the feedback and perspectives of patients, family members and the public, we ensure that patient needs are honored at the center of our vision of care and ministry.
Roles and Responsibilities
Join the Grey Nuns Community Hospital Surgery Program Quality Council and become an integral member of a team made up of members from all areas of the health care system.
As a member of the Quality Council, it is helpful for advisors to have an interest in surgical care and quality improvement. A willingness to learn about all the programs within the surgery portfolio is beneficial as members will learn about, and become familiar with, patient experience and satisfaction survey data.
You will be supported throughout your engagement by a member of the Program who will help orient you to the Quality Council.
The Quality Council has up to 10 meetings/year, usually from 7:00 – 8:00 am on the third Thursday of the month. Some pre-work is usually needed to fully engage in meetings. A one-year commitment is preferred. This can be renewed if you wish.
As a Patient Family Advisor, you will be reimbursed for parking and any expenses you incur for attending meetings.
