Computer Lab - Computer Lab Assistant – Senior Sessions
Description:
Support senior adults in The Salvation Army’s computer lab by helping them build confidence with technology. Volunteers will guide participants in using email, internet browsing, online forms, and other digital tools that support daily life.
Requirements:

Commitment to scheduled lab sessions (flexible scheduling available).

Patience and a supportive attitude toward learners of all skill levels.
Qualifications:

Basic computer literacy (email, internet, Microsoft Office/Google Suite).

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Interest in helping seniors gain independence through digital learning.

Teaching/tutoring experience is helpful but not required.
Expectations:

Provide one-on-one or small group support.

Encourage hands-on learning rather than completing tasks for participants.

Foster a welcoming, respectful, and supportive environment.

Report participant needs or concerns to staff promptly.

Monitor adult computer lab weekdays.

Assist patrons of the lab who need help with something computer related.

Ensure lab property is treated properly and web content viewed is appropriate.

Makes sure patrons sign in upon entrance.
