The Salvation Army - Omaha North

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate volunteers to join our after-school tutoring program. As an after-school tutor, you will provide academic support and mentorship to students. Your role will be crucial in helping students improve their understanding of various subjects, develop study skills, and build confidence in their academic abilities.

This opportunity is best for adult volunteers who enjoy helping children with homework and after school activities. 

Responsibilities:

· Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions in subjects such as [Specify Subjects, e.g., Math, Science, English].

· Assist students with homework assignments and test preparation.

· Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment.

· Collaborate with other tutors and staff to ensure a cohesive tutoring program.

· Attend training sessions and meetings as required.

Qualifications:

· Strong knowledge in the subjects you will be tutoring.

· Previous experience in tutoring or teaching is preferred but not required.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in helping students succeed.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Must be reliable and committed to the tutoring schedule.
