Christmas Assistance Program

The Salvation Army's Christmas Assistance Program is to help Genesee County residents who are struggling and seeking assistance. Christmas Assistance is given through the distribution of toys, coats, and food for the holiday. Volunteers are needed to help with helping parents fill out applications, compare our applicants and the lists of several agencies in the community to ensure that families do not receive gifts from multiple agencies, and with the data entry of Christmas Applications. Please assist in this endeavor to bring love to those at Christmas so that the real meaning of the season is not forgotten.

Emergency Disaster Services

There are many ways you can become involved in serving the community through emergency disaster services. No effective disaster relief operation can operate without the efforts of many volunteers with a diverse range of experience and training. Some people are content to hand out a cup of cold water to a thirsty stranger. Other people seek training at the highest level possible to serve in specialized areas of service. To find out how to become involved in disaster services in your area, call Marcia at 232-2196 ext. 227.

Red Kettle Volunteer!

Can You Give Two Hours?

Join us this Christmas season to Ring Bells and Help Change Lives. Your gift of time matters to so many families in our community right now. Spend two hours ringing a bell at one of your community kettles. Bring a friend, a group, a family member, and make a memory to last a lifetime. The time you give today could go to help someone you love tomorrow.

“Want to keep Christ in Christmas? Feed the hungry, clothe the naked, forgive the guilty, welcome the unwanted, care for the ill, love your enemies, and do unto others as you would have done unto you.”― Steve Maraboli
