The Cat Foster Program provides a vital lifeline for cats and kittens in need by placing them in temporary, loving homes while they wait for adoption or medical clearance. Foster volunteers play a key role in helping us save lives and give each animal the individualized care and attention they deserve.
Our program includes a variety of foster opportunities:
Adult Cats - Provide a calm, comfortable environment for adult cats who benefit from time outside the shelter, helping them decompress, socialize, and become more adoptable.
Bottle-Fed Kittens - Care for the tiniest and most vulnerable kittens who require round-the-clock bottle feeding, warmth, and hands-on care to grow and thrive.
Mom & Nursing Kittens - Foster mother cats and their litters, offering a safe, quiet space for nursing, bonding, and healthy kitten development until they are ready for adoption.
Weaned Kittens - Help young kittens transition to independence by providing socialization, play, basic care, and guidance as they grow and prepare for adoption.
Medical Fosters - Support cats recovering from illness, injury, or surgery by providing a quiet, supportive environment for rest, healing, and prescribed care.
Special Behavior Fosters - Work with cats who may be shy, under-socialized, or needing extra time and patience to build confidence and trust in a home setting.
Fostering is flexible and incredibly rewarding - whether it’s for a few days, a few weeks, or longer, every foster home helps save lives and makes space for the next animal in need.
