02 - Summer Groups - Speech Therapy Group Support Volunteer - Waterloo
Location: KidsAbility, 500 Hallmark Dr, Waterloo
Dates: Monday July 20 – Friday July 24, 2026 (volunteer needs to be available for the 5 consecutive days)
Time: 12:45 p.m. – 2:15 p.m.
We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to support our summer speech therapy groups for children ages 4-18. This role offers experience in a clinical setting and is ideal for postsecondary students considering careers as Speech Language Pathologists, Communicative Disorders Assistants, or related rehabilitation fields.
Role Responsibilities:
Volunteers will support groups with:
- Setting up and taking down therapy rooms before and after each session
- Preparing therapy materials as directed
- Greeting clients and families, guiding them to the therapy space, and collecting brief updates
- Support activities
- Support in gathering feedback
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Comfortable interacting with children and parents
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Quick learner with the ability to follow direction
- Basic computer skills
- Reliable, organized, and professional
- Vulnerable sector check
- Proof of COVID vaccination
- Volunteers must be 18+
