Volunteer Opportunities

Stable Hands

  • Help take care of our rescued equines and support the care and maintenance of horses and stables
  • May include feeding, grooming, mucking out stalls, maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in the stables. 
  • Applicants must be able to move a wheelbarrow (40 lbs.) and complete tasks by themselves (after training of course).

Gardeners

  • Support the maintenance, beautification, and sustainability of gardens.
  • Planting flowers, shrubs, and trees
  • Weeding, mulching, and watering 
  • Pruning and trimming 
  • General maintenance duties such as cleaning pathways and removing debris.
  • Ideal candidates will be able to come weekly for 1-2 hours a shift. Flexible days. 

Artists/Photographers

  • Decorate "The Mending Wall"- the wall is the back of an 80’ long barn and will be used in therapy for journaling.
  • Objects could be a single word, quote, or just something that inspires curiosity or provokes thought.
  • Materials need to be durable for the outdoor elements The wall will be viewed from 6’-18’ away so small print will not be effective.
  • Prefer positive messages and cheerful or calm colors. Christian themes are appropriate.
  • Proficient in utilizing photography equipment and techniques to produce high-quality images 
  • Supporting the mission of Mending Strides Ranch by visually documenting our impact and storytelling through compelling imagery. 
  • Flexible, reliable, and eager to contribute time and expertise to positively influence and inspire others through the power of photography.

Farm Hands/Ranch Maintenance

  • May include activities such as repairing fences and equipment.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization in farm buildings and storage areas
  • Seasonal tasks such as pruning or irrigation.
  • Ability to operate a tractor, which includes using tractor attachments is a plus.
  • Experience mowing and/or weed eating.
  • Experience with a chainsaw is helpful. 

 

Grant writers

  • Possess strong writing skills.
  • Keen understanding of the grant application process.
  • Researching potential funding sources,
  • Crafting compelling grant proposals.
  • Communicating the organization's mission and impact to potential funders. 

Fundraising & Event Planning

Apply your skills and creativity to help raise funds, organize events, and support our organization's mission.  Responsibilities include: Planning and executing fundraising campaigns and marketing events.  Potential volunteers must be team players and detail oriented.  Prior fundraising/event planning experience a plus!
