GSICU Visitor and Family Greeter
General Support Intensive Care Unit volunteers provide information, direction and assistance to families/loved ones visiting the ICU. During your volunteer shift, you will relay information to loved ones, instruct visitors on proper hand-washing technique, accompany visitors to patient room, orient visitors to Hospital services and area, and tidy waiting/quiet rooms. Volunteers must be able to work compassionately/cooperatively with emotional family members/visitors, be mature, sensitive/friendly, reliable and have a positive attitude. Little patient contact.
This Volunteer Program runs:
- Mon/Tues/Wed/Thurs/Fri 10:00am-12:00pm, 1:00pm-3:00pm and 3:00pm-5:00pm
- One volunteers per shift
Requirements: (Please prove you meet the requirements by describing them somewhere in the application form or by attaching a recent resume)
- must be 18 years of age or older
- must be able to commit for a minimum of 6 months in the same shift
- must be comfortable working with a minimum of supervision in a sometimes hectic/sometimes quiet environment
- must be able to work independently
- must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
